Too bad she couldn’t have come to us! We would have been able to find out what was causing her check engine light to come on, fixed whatever it was and gotten h er to a test only station to pass her smog! My daughter had just that exact Catch 22 situation where her check engine light was on but no one could find what was wrong. But she couldn’t pass her smog test (and my suggestion to just take out the check engine light fuse didn’t work either…) because her check engine light was on but they couldn’t fix her car… and so forth and so forth and meanwhile her penalties were mounting up because she couldn’t register it because her check engine light was on and no one could fix it! (Sounds like Who’s on First!).

I love the fact that there are now ‘test stations’. It does make me feel more confident that they are not ‘fudging’ the results to get the business.
